[ Somehow, he has gotten himself cornered by some of the drone boys from his class, despite wanting to eat lunch in peace. He's just sitting at the end of the table, munching on his sandwich with a bored look on his face while the others yammer on about girls, sports, movies... whatever. Touma can't be bothered to even try to feign interest as he has way too much on his mind from last week's "adventure".

Maybe someone with something to say can save him? ]

[ All done with his obligations for the day, he heads into the diner. He isn't looking for anything in particular; he isn't even that hungry. But he had called Mikoto because he really needs to talk to someone about what's been going on. Touma doesn't know who else can be any closer to the center of this situation than him, and still be someone he can trust.

Guess there's one way to find out -- but he arrived really early, so there could still be time for distractions... ]

[ His hands clench into fists, but it's really a reflex when it comes to things like this. He's more shocked than angry. ] You did WHAT?

Probably not! [ The admission comes before he considers his side of the argument. ] But fine, you had no choice. I get it. It doesn't mean I have to like the outcome, or the fact that someone put you in that kind of a position in the first place.

I...I will never like that guy. I hate him and it's hard to actually hate someone.

Maybe that's why he could ask you to do it. Because he thought you would in the first place. [ Frowning. Touma's not sure if he should consider that taking advantage of Mikoto's nature, or clever, given the circumstances... ] This place has a nice way of complicating everything.

[It still haunts her dreams.]

[ Touma tosses the menu aside. Suddenly his appetite is gone. ] I hope nothing else like that happened to you last week. Or to your sisters. [ He isn't sure if they've told her about that, yet... ]

[ A nod, then a sigh. ] They know how to run, that's for sure.

What do you mean?

We all ran halfway across the whole town.

Doing what? It wasn't for exercise, I bet.

Zombies. [ Giving her a look. Duh? Of course, whether they were being chased or doing the chasing, he doesn't say. ]

You didn't hurt them, did you?

Of course not! I can't believe you'd ask that. I'm not the out-for-himself type, Mikoto.

Good. I had to make sure.

"So, your real date finally showed up!" [ Piped up the young waitress that had been watching the exchange and finally decided it was safe enough to approach. She is poised with pen and pad in hand. ] "What'll it be, you two?"

[ Touma just groans. ] It's not even like that! [ But wait, what did she mean by "real date"? ...oh. Right. This isn't the first time the girl had come over to his table.
