4th Broken Illusion

[ Just as promised, Touma is waiting at the corner for Arisawa to show up. He hasn't been here long, but he got tired of standing still so he's pacing a circle around the stop sign, pausing when there's a chance a car or bike would be coming by and could hit him --- but nothing happens. ]

[ Open : Rec Center ]
[ Part of it is to keep in shape, and part of it is to work out stress, but today Touma decided to visit the gym as he does from time to time. You'll find him either working on the stationary bike (that doesn't break), lifting weights (that don't come undone and drop onto his feet), or punching at a bag (that doesn't come apart or otherwise break).

Yeah. Someone's noticed that things aren't quite "normal' for him, and since he can't come up with a rational explanation, it has him just a bit ticked off. Since he lacks his power, he'll have to make up for it in other ways. Recent talks with people who went through hard times back in their own worlds only served to reinforce this.

Touma barely takes a break between activities, sitting somewhere alone with his sandwich or a bottle of water, before getting right back to it. ]

'Misaka is the one with the advanced military training,' Misaka points out that she could easily take them in a fight.

[ ...how can she have that kind of training? That seems unbelievable and yet, at the same time, how can he question it? ] It's not a matter of taking them out, but of causing trouble for yourself. You'll have to be around them day after day, so it's good you found this place after all.

'Ah, but if Misaka can frighten them into leaving her alone, then there would be no problem..' Misaka answers as she contemplates doing such a thing.

You know how drones are. They'll just keep trying day after day, never getting the point.

'Then Misaka will wound their ego day after day,' Misaka decides.

[ Sigh. ] What kind of attitude is that to have?

[Oh wait. Touma doesn't like that?]

'Ah, you're right, Misaka should just ignore them instead,' Misaka relents.

Right. We've got more important things to do than pick pointless fights with drones, of all people.

[She nods.]

'Misaka still hasn't figured anything out about this place regarding how to get out,' Misaka apologizes.

Mm. That's nothing to apologize for. I don't have any clues, and neither does anyone else I've talked to. I doubt it'd be as simple as walking down the street a certain way or something like that. [ Since he thought that maybe the town circling in on itself was some kind of optical illusion; that the roads were paved in a way to make one THINK they were going in a straight line when, in fact, they just curve subtly and lead to one another. ]

'Misaka will keep trying to find a way out,' Misaka promises.

Good! There's no sense in not fighting just because things seem hopeless to others here. They'll come around; they just need proof of something to believe in. [ And he'll be damned if he's going to spend months and years here and not be able to provide that proof. ]
