[ Just as promised, Touma is waiting at the corner for Arisawa to show up. He hasn't been here long, but he got tired of standing still so he's pacing a circle around the stop sign, pausing when there's a chance a car or bike would be coming by and could hit him --- but nothing happens. ]

[ Open : Rec Center ]
[ Part of it is to keep in shape, and part of it is to work out stress, but today Touma decided to visit the gym as he does from time to time. You'll find him either working on the stationary bike (that doesn't break), lifting weights (that don't come undone and drop onto his feet), or punching at a bag (that doesn't come apart or otherwise break).

Yeah. Someone's noticed that things aren't quite "normal' for him, and since he can't come up with a rational explanation, it has him just a bit ticked off. Since he lacks his power, he'll have to make up for it in other ways. Recent talks with people who went through hard times back in their own worlds only served to reinforce this.

Touma barely takes a break between activities, sitting somewhere alone with his sandwich or a bottle of water, before getting right back to it. ]


(OOC: People can also use this post to just call Touma or stop by his house if there is a need for it. o/ )

There's that. [ He takes a seat with the dumbbells on the floor before him and starts with stretches. ] I wonder if I should try to find some work. Having a little extra spending money might be nice...

[ Thanks, Ken, for taking care of the awkward "should I know this guy?" moment away from him. Touma shakes his head. ] Yeah, didn't think so.

Touma Kamijou. [ A brief pause. ] ...oh. You're the guy Sanguinius was talking about.

Hey, nice to meetcha. And you been in contact with Sanguinius? How did I come up?

[He is genuinely confused, somehow he didn't expect the over sized angel dude to remember his name.]

When I was talking about joining up with his resistance force he just dropped your name. Though we'd have a few things in common. [ Half a smile. ] Looks like he might've been onto something. [ Since they just bumped into each other like this, after all. ]

Well, if you were trying to join the forces...he may be thinking we have similar fighting styles or somethin' like that.

Maybe... except I never talked to him about any of that. [ A pause, then he furrows his brow. ] He'd better not have read my mind or anything, because that's creepy and wrong and he didn't even ask! [ Assuming that angel-like beings in gold armor who have his kind of presence even have any kind of other supernatural powers. It seems like a logical step, to him. ]

Really? I don't think so, he's one of Garvi's friends and I don't think he'd put up with someone like that. Besides, there's only one malicious mind reader in town that I know of and it ain't Sanguinus. [Ken's eyes narrowed a little bit, and then shrugged.]

It was just a guess on my part, sorry it got you so riled.

It's okay. I just have trouble figuring out who's normal and powerless and who has their abilities back, since that's apparently something this town does from what I've heard.

Hah, I don't blame you. Hell, I've been here for what seems to be like forever and I still haven't figured out half of 'em. So what are you looking to do in the forces anyways?

That long? [ Joking, a bit, but he figures it's been long enough by now. ]

Anything, as long as it's working against what the town is trying to do. Keeping people safe, making sure others don't abuse the already unfair random situations to hurt people who just want to survive, and look for a way out.

That's... a pretty long time. [ Feeling a little sorry for the guy, now. ] You must've seen a lot in that time. Do you think things have gotten any less crazy, here, in all that time?

[Ken shook his head] Not at all, every new person who arrives, everyone who leaves, it all adds to the general disorder of the place. It's always changin' and there ain't much we can do to keep things stable. The only thing that works like clockwork is the fact that we get tortured every damn holiday.

Damn. [ He really shouldn't be surprised, but he is. ]

How long do you think this place has been going on like this? What's the oldest "resident" you can think of, trapped like us?

I dunno, I'm lousy at keepin' stuff like that straight. You could ask around. [There wasn't many people still here that were here when he arrived but there had to be a few.]

Guess I'll have to. [ Touma starts to lift the dumbbells, now, having almost neglected them in favor of talking. ] Seems like the last set of... hell, I don't know what to call them. "Incidents"? Felt more like a joke this time around.

Yeah, Thanksgiving. Last year it was booby trapped turkeys that did all sorts of nasty shit. I wonder if they'll just do that again this year.

Ew. Like hell I'll be trusting any meals on holidays here anytime soon. [ Touma makes a face. He'll have it out with the drone parents if they try to feed him or Morgana anything weird. ] Thanks for the heads-up for that possibility.

You're welcome. Food seems to be one of the things they like fuckin' with most of the time. The milk, holiday foods...it sucks kiddo.

Yeah, that took some getting used to. But at least I can still have oatmeal, or toast in the mornings. [ Which is really the only time milk plays that heavily into his diet. ]
