Yes. Just a dress. It has a few rips in it, but those are from its own wear.

It seems just like any of the other things we receive in the mail after events.

Yeah, well... this time it seems really cruel to give it to us like they're special holiday gifts. It's different when it's just a simple letter in the mail, or a parcel.

I don't think the town is that terrible. Even after the things it does...we do receive things back, no? They would not tempt us, especially at Christmas...would they?

It's safe to assume there's plenty of idiots who did just go ahead and open their gifts without any suspicion, so unless you think you're so special the town would single you out for bizarre treatment, you can generally gauge its safety by their reactions.

No, but that's the kind of stuff I expect her, and it'd be just my luck to get something like that on Christmas.

Though I can't imagine what it could be.

Actually, the packages that show up after something bad has happened usually aren't anything bad.

Well, they give us back things we had at home. I'm sure everyone's had at least a few things in the course of their lives that they'd rather not see again. So it can't always be something good, but almost everything I've gotten has been either harmless or beneficial.

Hm. [ She had a point. ] I'm still worried about the presentation. I don't exactly have a lot from home I think that I want or need, and getting it like this is just more suspicious than normal.
